- Plantible Foods is the first company to extract the natural enzyme RuBisCO (also known as Rubi protein) from duckweed. Duckweed contains seven times more protein than soy and is also rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
The Plant Protein Research Progress
- Extrusion equipment manufacturer Clextral USA has developed a plant-textured protein line. The line combines shear fibrosis and continuous extrusion processes to produce the plant-textured proteins, which have a softer texture.
- Molecular agriculture pioneer PoLoPo has announced that its genetically modified potato (high protein potato) has reached the point where it can be grown in the field.
- A new study from Japan suggests that a sustained intake of soy milk with high soy protein may help improve walking speed in older adults, especially in older adults with faster walking speeds and higher levels of daily activity.
