Plant Protein Market

  • Agricultural giant Lantmannen has    invested SEK 1.2 billion to build the    Swedish largest plant protein factory. The factory mainly produces pea protein.
  • Plant-based company Novameat has    announced the completion of a  17.4 million Series A funding round to expand its existing plant-based meat production capacity.
  • Russia's vegetarian products national certification was officially launched on September 17.

 

Plant Protein Products Plan

  • Concepta Ingredients, a business unit of the Sabará Group specializing in natural solutions for the food and beverage industry, has launched the Arboreto Premium Protein range.The range includes PRO 1000G, a plant-based protein active derived from sesame oil extraction, and PRO 1000GB, which combines sesame and babaçu ingredients.
  • Cascadian Farm recently launched a new line of energy bars made from organic pea protein. The bars are available in two flavors: peanut butter chocolate chips and honey-roasted nuts.
  • MYCO has successfully launched plant-based burgers and sausages with its proprietary   oyster mushroom protein, Hooba. The 50/50 burger (plant protein combined with animal  protein) made with Hooba protein not only retains its perfect shape when cooked but also tastes similar to traditional meat.
  • DUG, Veg of Lund's potato milk, will be sold in Germany's REWE supermarkets. The product combines potatoes with water, pea protein, and rapeseed oil to create nutrient-rich drink. DUG is free of common allergens such as lactose, nuts, soy, and gluten and is particularly suitable for people who are lactose intolerant or have diabetes, further boosting its market appeal.

 

The Plant Protein Research Progress

  • Studies have found that oil-free superlubricants made from potato protein can achieve superlubricity or near zero friction.
  • According to research from the University of Leeds, duckweed contains up to 43% protein and is also rich in minerals, starch, and fatty acids. The extremely fast growth rate of duckweed makes it a promising source of high yield and low-cost protein.
  • A study suggests that a plant-based diet may improve the health of dogs.
  • 3D-printed plant meat is the future. Forma Foods' products are designed to replicate popular Mexican dishes such as arrachera and carne al pastor, using pea protein, Oriental prebiotic fiber, and coconut oil to simulate muscle, connective tissue, and fat, respectively.
